Join the Paddle Sport Community for a massive public float down the Sacramento River through the City of Redding. This event is open to citizens at every level of paddle ability, no experience necessary. This moving water paddle event is open to all paddle sport enthusiasts in kayaks, canoes, surfskis, standup paddleboards, outriggers, prone paddleboards, drift boats, rafts, and anything else you can paddle. In fact, if you have never paddled the river, this is your day. Begin your trip at Riverfront Park listening to a sunrise concert. After your journey, treat yourself to lunch at South Bonnyview’s Reginato River Access. You can leave your equipment safely under the watchful eyes of the Redding Police Explorers while you enjoy return transportation to Riverfront Park, which is included with your ticket purchase and provided by the Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA). Mt. Shasta 4th of July Walk/Run
Join us for the 2024 Mount Shasta 4th of July Walk/Run! Our classic races include: - 2 Mile -Youth Race. This event is designed for younger runners under 18 years old. Ribbons are presented to the top three finishers in each division. All finishers receive medals. - 2 Mile Fun Walk - This is our most popular event. The walk provides fun and excitement for everyone in the family with entertainment along the route. - 5 Mile Race - Close to 1,000 runners compete over a fairly flat course with an uphill climb on the final mile. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each division. This is a USATF certified course (#CA19031RS). The 4th of July Walk/Run event fulfills a role as a primary fundraiser within the community for a variety of youth and community groups, community enhancement projects, and the organization who hosts the event, SORA.
