Castle Lake to Heart Lake Hike
This Sierra Club field trip, supported by Shasta Chapter CNPS, will be at Heart Lake near Mt. Shasta. It will be a 3-mile out-and-back hike of moderate difficulty, above 6,000 feet. We will be learning about the plants along the trail, the Roadless Rule, and Wilderness Area designations. Join us for a morning of hiking and learning while taking in spectacular views! Wear closed-toe shoes and bring water and lunch. Hiking poles are helpful. No dogs, please. Heavy rain cancels, but for intermittent sprinkles or drizzle, bring an umbrella. Shasta Mall parking near Chase Bank at 8:30 AM to carpool/caravan to the trailhead. Participants must sign a Sierra Club waiver before the hike.
