Shasta Cascade Educational Foundation Field Trip Program

Plan your next class field trip at the Anderson California Welcome Center! Students will rotate between customized stations based on teacher requests to learn all about UpStateCA. Stations include 4-5 of the following activities. (Activities may vary based on availability. Teacher assistance may be needed in booking certain activities.)

  • Rock Painting: Let your students exercise their creativity! Students each get to pick and paint a rock – and take it home with them at the end of the day! (Ponchos are provided to ensure students’ clothing remains paint-free.)
  • Forest Service Ranger Talks: Meet with a ranger from the Shasta-Trinity National Forest and hear about the forests of UpStateCA and how the National Forest Service works to steward the land.
  • Fire Engine Demonstrations: Hear from firefighters how they do their job and see a fire engine up close and personal.
  • Anderson Police Department Demonstrations: See a police patrol car, K9 demonstration, and hear safety tips from a police officer.
  • Scavenger Hunt: Familiarize yourself with the California Welcome Center Anderson with our fun scavenger hunt! The hunt will take students all throughout the center, familiarizing them with the exhibits on display and information about the surrounding areas. Students who complete the hunt will receive a small prize.
  • Snack Time: A mid-trip snack break of Goldfish crackers, granola bars, and juice is provided as part of the trip. (Please inform us ahead of time if any of your group has dietary restrictions.)
