Turtle Bay Farmers Market
We are the Shasta Growers Association (SGA). We were established after the California Department of Food And Agriculture developed the Certified Farmers Market Program for the State of California in 1977. Fun fact, when we formed the SGA, we became one of the first Farmers Market Associations in California! All markets are certified through the Shasta County Agricultural Commissioner and the State of California Department of Food and Agriculture Program. We grow what we sell. We support local fresh food. We believe in farmers and makers. EBT/Cal Fresh and WIC are gladly accepted at SGA Markets. Read More

Downtown Oroville Historic Walking Tour
Step back in time and discover Oroville’s rich and racy history on the first Saturday of every month with your guide, Daniel Ballard. Daniel, a member of the Butte County Historical Society, has been serving as a docent and collecting stories from local historians since the age of 15. He is truly passionate about Oroville’s history and making it accessible to the community. This is also a great opportunity to get out and see all of the revitalization efforts and new businesses in Downtown Oroville. Downtown Oroville Historic Walking Tours are free to the public, but we encourage you to tip your guide if you are able. The tour changes monthly to cover different aspects of the city. Read More

Fandango Days
The Fandango Days celebration in Alturas has a parade that kicks off down Main Street starting @ 10:30am followed by an afternoon of food, fun and plenty of fun-in-the-sun entertainment at the Veteran's Memorial Park on South Main Street. Activities will start about noon at the park and events include the Lion's and Elks BBQ for $6.50; food, information and crafts booths, Classic Cruisers Car show; and Cow Pie Bingo contest with 100 squares at $10 a square. Lake Almanor Community Foundation hosts 11 free outdoor concerts featuring country to rock to blues bands for listening and dancing beginning June 25 through Labor Day Weekend. “Music Under the Stars” is held at Rec I at Lake Almanor Country Club on the peninsula and offers raffles for both children and adults. 1st Saturday of every month, the Arts Council hosts an Art Walk in historic Weaverville that includes from 8 to 15 venues. 4th of July Fun Run
Almanor Recreation Park District hosts the July 4, 2023 42nd Annual Fun Run, a one-mile run/walk starting on the Collins Pine lawn and proceeding down Chester’s historic Main Street to the finish at the Bidwell House. The event starts at 9:00am in advance of the Chester 4th of July Parade. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and enjoy refreshments at the finish line. Read More
